Upper Age limit for entry of WBCS officers raised

The West Bengal Finance department has recently issued a notification on the government's decision to raise the upper age limit for the entry of Group A and B category WBCS officers.
The state Cabinet had earlier decided to increase the upper age limit for entry of West Bengal Civil Services Group A officers from 32 to 36 and for Group B officers, it has been increased from 32 to 39.
The notification issued Tuesday said that the decision has already been implemented from this January.
The move to increase the age limit will allow more aspirants to sit for exam as the state government is trying to fill up the vacant posts and this will reduce the state's dependence on the Centre.
