Supported by pick up in demand in the domestic spot market, zinc prices were up 0.12 per cent to Rs 205.75 per kg in futures trading today as participants built up fresh positions.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in October edged up by 25 paise, or 0.12 per cent to Rs 205.75 per kg in business turnover of 139 lots.
Likewise, the metal for delivery in September traded higher by 20 paise, or 0.10 per cent to Rs 207.25 per kg in 863 lots.
Analysts said fresh positions created by participants due to upsurge in demand from consuming industries in the spot market, mainly influenced zinc prices at futures trade.
