The US has awarded Bell Helicopter a $170 million contract to manufacture and deliver nine AH-1Z Viper attack choppers to Pakistan under its foreign military sales funds.

In a statement, the Defense Department on Monday said that the work will be performed in Fort Worth and Amarillo (both in Texas) and is expected to be completed in September 2018.

"Foreign military sales funds in the amount of $170,173,188 will be obligated at time of award, none of which will expire at the end of the current fiscal year," the statement said.
