District Magistrate (south-west) Ankur Garg said that no activity may be allowed which causes any confusion or difficulty to the pilots as the safety of the passengers on a flight was of paramount concern.
He said that strict action would be taken against those violating the laser light ban.
"Any violation of this order would be punished under Section 188 of Indian Penal Code which provides for imprisonment of up to six months and a fine in case of disobedience to any order duly promulgated by a public servant," Garg said in a statement.
The area SHO has been directed to serve the prohibitory orders to the organisers of such functions and to the managers or owners of such properties.
