Vasan supports OPS nominee for bypoll

Tamil Manila Congress chief G K Vasan today announced his party's support to O Panneerselvam-led AIADMK faction's nominee E Madhusudanan for the April 12 bypoll to RK Nagar Assembly constituency.
Announcing his party's "wholehearted" support at a joint press meet with Panneerselvam here, Vasan said it was incumbent on a party to take political decisions based on the "people's mood."
Reversing the TMC's earlier stand that it would neither contest nor support any other party in the bypoll, he said the decision had the support of the majority of party functionaries.
Welcoming the support, Panneerselvam said a big change was the need of the hour and it "is the central theme" of his party's propaganda in RK Nagar.

He said his faction will continue to go to the people on the plank of "Dharma Yudham," against VK Sasikala's nephew Dinakaran, who is seeking election from RK Nagar.
Stating that they were apprising the voters that their fight against Dinakaran faction was "just," he said change was a natural corollary to the fight for "dharma."
The by-election to RK Nagar constituency has been necessitated following the death of former Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa and will see candidates of AIADMK's Sasikala and Paneerselvam factions, DMK and CPI lock horns.
