The company, which is a 50:50 joint venture between the Volvo Group and Eicher Motors, had sold 3,687 units in the same month last year.
Domestic sales stood at 3,064 units in May this year as against 3,488 units in the same month year ago, down by 12.2 per cent, VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) said in a statement.
On the exports front, Eicher trucks and buses sales jumped more than three-fold to 621 units last month, as against 193 units in May 2013, the company added.
