The deceased was identified as Kishan Lal. He was a native of Sambhal in Uttar Pradesh and lived near Shakarpur metro station area.
"The incident took place last evening when Kishan Lal had gone to the washroom near his kiosk in Shakarpur. As soon as he touched a metal railing in the toilet, he was electrocuted due to high tension current passing through it," said a senior police official, adding he collapsed on the ground
He was rushed to Lal Bahadur Shastri hospital where he was declared brought dead, he added.
A case under the relevant sections including causing death due to negligence has been registered at Shakarpur police station.
