Vigilance raids on mining officer unearth disproportionate

Vigilance sleuths today detected properties worth Rs 2.60 crore in possession of a mining department officer, allegedly to be disproportionate to his known source of income.
The sleuths conducted simultaneous raids on various properties of Phulbani mining officer Prafulla Sethy. The raids were conducted with permission of the court after receiving complaints of disproportionate assets in excess of his known source of income, said Phulbani Vigilance DSP RD Nayak.
The raided locations include his Phulbani office, ancestral home and his houses located in GGP Colony and Sabarsahi of Bhubaneswar.
Sethy has three houses in Bhubaneswar, two in Teladiha, a plot and a market complex in Nischintakoili, said a Vigilance Department official.

"The total immovable and movable assets of Prafulla Kumar Sethy, Mining Officer, Phulbani has been so far calculated at over Rs 2.60 crore," an official release said, adding search operations were still going on.
