'Wanted dacoit' arrested

An alleged dacoit, who had several criminal cases registered against him including of extortion, was arrested here, police said today.
Nihal Meena, who was carrying a cash reward of Rs 6,000 on his head, was arrested by a team of Dholpur police yesterday, a police spokesman said.
Quoting SP Harendra Kumar, the spokesperson said one rifle of 303 bore and 62 live cartridges were recovered from the dacoit who was hiding near Padampura in Dholpur district.
"Three diaries, nine mobile SIM cards, four empty cartridges, a number of slips related to extortion for mining people were also recovered from his pockets," he said.
Over two dozens cases related to dacoities, loot, attempt to murder, extortion and vehicle thefts were registered against him in various police stations of Bharatpur division range, he said.
A fresh case under various sections of IPC and Arms Act was registered against him in Sarmathura police station, he added.
