"The water in the river Godavari is receding slowly and the present water level at Dowleswaram barrage was 15.30 feet against its maximum level of 24 feet this morning. The water level may further reduce by evening," Superintendent of Engineer, Irrigation Circle, Dowleswaram S Sugnarao, told PTI.
Meanwhile, district collector Neetu Prasad held a review meeting today on flood situation in the district and directed the officials take all necessary steps to prevent human and property loss besides moving people from of low-lying to relief camps.
All necessary steps were taken including relief and rehabilitation operations in the affected areas and medical teams will be pressed into the service, she added.
At the six relief camps in the district, so far 591 people were have been shifted.
