Mentha oil prices were down 1.36% to Rs 946.40 per kg in futures trading today as speculators lightened positions amid subdued demand from consuming industries in the spot market.
At the Multi Commodity Exchange, mentha oil for delivery in September shed Rs 13.10, or 1.36% to Rs 946.40 per kg in a business turnover of 124 lots.
Likewise, the oil for August contracts eased by Rs 12.10, or 1.27% to Rs 935 per kg in 481 lots.
Analysts attributed the fall in mentha oil prices to subdued demand from consuming industries at the spot market against increased arrivals from Chandausi in Uttar Pradesh.
