West Bengal CM pays tribute to nation on I-day eve

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tonight paid rich tributes to the nation on the eve of the 72nd Independence day.

"Salute to our great nation and all my brothers and sisters. Like every year, we will be celebrating 'Freedom at midnight... Jai Hind. Bande Mataram #IndependenceDayIndia," Banerjee wrote on Twitter.

She also tweeted about her government's official Independence day programme at Red Road tomorrow morning.

The metropolis witnesses grand Independence Day celebrations every year on Red Road with police officers, members of the civil society, social organisations and school children taking part in a parade, and Banerjee hoisting the national flag.
