Wheat futures maintain uptrend, up 0.16% on increased demand

Continuing its rising streak for the third day, wheat prices edged up by 0.16 per cent to Rs 1,880 per quintal in futures trading today as speculators engaged in building their positions amid increased demand at spot market.
At the National Commodity and Derivatives Exchange, wheat for delivery in January was trading higher by Rs 3, or 0.16 per cent, to Rs 1,880 per quintal, with an open interest of 3,590 lots.
Analysts said, increasing of positions by traders on the back of pick up in demand from flour mills in the spot market, mainly kept wheat prices higher at futures trade.
