Harsimrat Kaur had met Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday and demanded a compensation of Rs 5 lakh to the victims of 1984 riots.
"I want Harsimrat Kaur to clarify why despite being a Union Minister is she not equally concerned about the victims of Punjab and Delhi. As a Union Minister she should be concerned about the country and not a particular community or faith," Chawla said.
"It is unfortunate that while everyone talks about the brutality in Delhi, but there is no one to show concern towards the victims of insurgency in Punjab. Even Kaur is not concerned about the victims," she added.
"During the peak of insurgency in the state, about 25,000 innocent people were killed and over 4,000 policemen and security personnel became martyrs. The truth is that there was a lot of oppression in Delhi during the riots and in Punjab too the insurgents crossed all limits of tyranny and cruelty," she said.
