Adilakshmi was watching a serial on television at their home at Dalita wada of Tsakiband village under Chinnamandem mandal of Kadapa on Saturday night, when her husband Anjaneyulu returned home and wanted to watch an IPL match.
The couple, who got married recently, had a quarrel over this and the husband allegedly slapped his wife and turned on the channel to watch IPL match.
The wife, in a fit of rage, then doused herself in kerosene oil and set herself on fire.
She was later admitted in Rajiv Gandhi institute of medical sciences at Kadapa where her condition is stated to be critical, police said.
A case was registered in this regard at Chinnamandem police station last evening.
Further investigation was on, police added.
