Police yesterday recovered the body of Kalpana Gouda from her in-law's house and subsequently arrested her husband, Mithun Gouda, said Inspector In-Charge of Kabisuryanagar police station D R Patnaik.
Mithun denied the allegation saying Kalpana died because of illness.
The body of Kalpana, who was married to Mithun in 2011, has been sent for autopsy, police said.
Kalpana's mother Rama Gouda alleged before police that on Wednesday evening Mithun informed her that Kalpana was serious. "She was no more when we reached. We suspect her in-laws might have throttled her," she said.
