Police arrested Chempati Sandhya, a self-styled entrepreneur, who was on the run after a sting operation was conducted and telecast by a local Telugu news channel on June 5.
Following a complaint by APPSC about the alleged role of the woman, who sought bribe to ensure lecturers' jobs in government Polytechnic colleges, the Detective Department in the Central Crime Station (CCS) had booked a case against her and took up investigations.
In the TV footage, Sandhya was allegedly seen assuring jobs to candidates appearing for interview to the post of lecturers and also claiming to have links with an APPSC member.
She was produced before a local court and a requisition has been filed for police custody of the accused for detailed interrogation, the officer added.
