The incident took place yesterday when one Geeta Devi went for admission at the Community Health Centre (CHC) in Hargaon but doctors and staff did not admit her as she was alone, the health centre officials said.
She delivered the baby on the roadside with the help of locals, after which the villagers forcibly got her admitted to the hospital, they said.
Admitting negligence on the part of doctors for denying admission to the pregnant lady, Chief Medical Officer, Hargovind Singh has ordered a probe into the matter and assured that strict action will be taken against those found responsible.
