Rahima Khatun (55), a resident of Chhapra in Bihar, collapsed after getting down from Tinsukia-Rajendranagar Express at Alipurduar junction early this morning and was rushed to a hospital where she was declared dead, a senior police officer said.
Relatives accompanying Khatun said the diversion of the train via Alipurduar due to four-day long rail blockade at New Coochbehar station resulted in its delay by over eight hours and Khatun had complained of uneasiness.
On Sunday, a 29-year-old man had died after falling ill in the Kanchenjungha Express which was delayed for several hours due to the stir, the GRP had said.
The lifting of the rail blockade at the New Cooch Behar railway station on Cooch Behar-New Jalpaiguri section was preceded by sporadic clashes between the police and the agitators.
