Woman dies, reportedly after falling from train

A woman passenger travelling in West Coast express was found dead on the railway track near Podanur today, reportedly after falling from the train, police said.
Jayashankar and his wife Sumati were travelling to Palakkad from Chennai by the train last night.
After having food, both had gone to wash their hands as the train neared Coimbatore station.
When Sumati did not return to her seat for long, Jayashankar started searching in other compartments.
By the time train reached Palakkad, Jayashankar lodged a complaint with Railway Police there, who in turn informed their counterparts at Podanur and Coimbatore.
Podanur police found the body on the track near the station and rushed it to the Government Hospital here for post mortem, police said.

The body was later handed over to the husband and relatives, they said.
