The convicted woman, by the name of Mahabiri, was also asked to pay a fine of Rs 10,000 as the sentence in the case was passed yesterday by Additional District Sessions Judge Rajbir Singh.
The court also ordered her to pay Rs 5,000 to the victim's family as compensation.
According to the prosecution, the child, Soni, was beaten to death for allegedly stealing wheat at Godhna village of the district on March 6, 2014.
