The incident occurred last evening when Palanisami and Sakunthala hailing from Vadakurankaduthurai, had gone to the construction site to pour water on the wall, which suddenly collapsed on them, they said.
While the woman succumbed on the way to hospital, Palanisami was admitted to Thanjavur medical college hospital where he is undergoing treatment, police said.
A case has been registered.
