Pawan Kumar, a resident of Walterganj area and posted in Chandigarh, was on leave from work and had booked a ticket in the train to head home, Government Railway Police spokesperson said.
As the train reached Kanpur, the woman alleged that Kumar molested her and complained to GRP officials, the spokesperson said.
The woman has lodged an FIR and police have nabbed the accused.
Medical examination is being conducted to ascertain whether the accused was in an inebriated state, he said.
According to the accused, he had a brawl with the woman over a seat which is being played up as molestation.
