Halima alias Hallobee, facing charges of killing her husband, tried to hang herself with a 'dupatta' in the bathroom. She was saved by other jail inmates, they said.
Halima, who is pregnant, then repeatedly hit her head against the wall in the second attempt to kill herself.
She suffered injuries and was shifted to the hospital where her condition was stated to be out of danger, they added.
Early this month the woman had sought permission from a local court for medical termination of pregnancy, they said.
She had appeared in the trial court yesterday.
