Woman, son burnt to death in factory fire in Panipat

A woman worker and her minor son were charred to death in a fire which broke out at a factory in Panipat today, police said.
The woman, who hailed from Uttar Pradesh, tried to save her 9-year-old son from the flames who was inside the unit with her.
Police said the woman along with some other workers in the unit had managed to come out when the fire suddenly engulfed the factory, but on finding that her son was still inside, she went in to rescue her, but both succumbed to the flames.
Three fire tenders which arrived at the spot later brought the flames under control.

DSP Panipat, Jagdeep Singh said that a case has been registered against the unit owner on the complaint of the kin of victim.
