Woman stages sit-in before jail

A woman today sat on dharna in front of the jail here demanding action against a prison warden for allegedly raping her on pretext of marriage.
The woman had come here with her father from Dindigul district to stage the protest, police said.
She alleged that the warden Arunkumar had promised to marry her and had raped her. Later, he had gone back on his promise.
Police had registered three cases against him but they had not taken any action, she claimed.
Arunkumar had sought transfer from Dindigul to Ramanathapuram. She said she would continue the dharna till police took some action.

Police Inspector Josephine rushed to the spot and held an inquiry and also got a written complaint from her and handed over the complaint to the jail authorities.
She said action has been recommended against the warden on the complaint.
