'Xi Jinping: The Governance of China', which has been published in Chinese and translated into English and eight other languages, including French, Russian and Arabic, made its debut at the Frankfurt book fair yesterday, official media here reported today.
Xi, also the General Secretary of the ruling Communist Party, could be the first Chinese leader in recent years to have come out with a book while in power.
Xi, who has established his stamp of authority over the Communist Party, government and military since he came to power last year, has also launched a massive anti-corruption campaign against some of the high-level leaders and officials.
"The book records the thinking and practice of Xi and the central leadership, responds to the concerns of the international community and opens a window for outsiders to observe and understand China," Cai Mingzhao, director for China's State Council Information Office said at the book launch ceremony.
Cai said the book answers a lot of major questions related to China's development in the new era and it will serve as a "window" for the world to understand the country.
The book includes Xi's speeches, answers to questions, and instructions from November 15, 2012 to June 13, 2014.
Former German Chancellor Gerhard Schroeder who took part in the release ceremony said, "The book explains the position of the Chinese president and the central leadership of the country, which could help us understand China's politics.
