Smartphone maker Xolo today launched three new devices aimed at the "selfie" generation as it looks to add a new lease of life to its portfolio.
Like many Indian handset makers, Xolo (a sub-brand of Lava) was also impacted as Chinese players like Oppo, Vivo, Xiaomi and Lenovo grabbed consumers' attention and market share.
"We did a study to understand what the customers are looking for and found that camera was one of the key areas. Indians love selfies. So, we decided to bring in the premium moonlight flash feature to all the three phones," Xolo Business Head Sunil Raina told PTI.
He added that the three smartphones -- priced between Rs 4,999 and Rs 7,499 -- are designed for "selfie aficionados" and the moonlight selfie flash will help in low-light conditions.
The handsets (Era 3X, Era 2V, and Era 3), which have 5- inch displays, will be available from October 14 exclusively through e-commerce platform Flipkart.
Raina said there are brands that have capitalised on the "selfie" trend but they are focused on the offline market.
"As an online-only brand, we see a big opportunity and especially at the price points where we are offering the devices," he added.
The Era 3X features 3GB RAM, 16GB internal memory, 13 MP rear and front camera and 3,000 mAh battery. The Era 2V, with 2GB RAM, has an 8 MP rear and 13 MP front camera.
The Era 3 has 5 MP rear and 8 MP front camera, along with 1GB RAM, 8GB internal memory and 2,500 mAh battery.
