Goyal asked educational institutions to help India become "Super Power" where every citizen feels empowered and remains "self-reliant".
The minister was addressing a gathering of students and eminent academicians at the Somaiya College in suburban Vidya Vihar where he was chief guest on the occasion of the 59th Foundation Day celebration.
"I have no doubt in my mind that India will become a super power at one point of time, to which we are committed to make India Super Power where every Indian is self-reliant, respected, empowered and where every citizen of the country contributes to the well-being of the rest of the society," said the minister.
He said, "I am delighted that Somaiya educational institute in Vidya Vihar has played an important role in shaping the destiny of Mumbai."
"I have been appealing to the business community, the youngsters, my own chartered accountant brothers since last three-and-half years that ultimately we can transform the country.
"I appeal to over 31,000 students of this college and all the country to come forward and be part of change that we want to see," the 53-year-old minister, who has long association with the college, said.
Chief of the Trust that governs the daily affairs of the college, Samir Somaiya outlined the achievements of several students of the institute and vowed to provide the best state-of-the-art infrastructure and educational facilities to the students.
"Shri @PiyushGoyal spoke about the significance of youth participation in transforming India at the Guru Nanak College, in Mumbai," the official handle of Goyal's twitter posted.
It also said, "I appeal to my young friends to join the New India revolution- an India where everyone gets the best facilities & opportunities.
