The accused, identified as Shiv Kumar Arora, was arrested in a joint operation of Police and BSF near the Indo-Pak border yesterday, the spokesperson said last night.
The accused was handed over to the Hinumalkot police and a case under Excise Act and Arms Act was registered against him, he said.
Arora who lives in Sujawalpur in Srigangnagar district was arrested by Punjab Police under NDPS Act in June 2014, he added.
