A case was registered against the accused, identified as Salman, on a complaint filed by the girl's father, they said.
According to the complaint, the girl was sleeping alone on the terrace of her house yesterday when Salman reached there and started molesting her.
The girl woke up and cried out for help, following which the boy fled from the spot, police said.
A search for the youth has been initiated.
