Youth commits suicide in Faridabad

A 19-year-old youth allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling of his house at Jeevan Nagar in the district.
According to police, Mandeep had purchased a mobile phone on September 14 from some unknown persons by paying them Rs 23,800. However, on reaching home, he found that the display of the phone was not working.
Mandeep then contacted the men from whom he bought the phone and told them about the problem. He requested them to give the money back as the phone was not working. But the men refused to give return the money or take back the phone, ASI Mukesh Kumar said.

Mandeep's father said that disturbed over this, he hanged himself in the intervening night of September 14 and 15, they said.
Police have lodged a case under section 306 (abetment of suicide) of IPC, the ASI said, adding, the matter is being investigated.
