Speaking at a Youth Congress camp held at Neyyar near here, state Youth Congress Vice-President C R Mahesh said "Tughlaq-like" reforms "imposed" on the youth and campus wings of the party had failed to make any impact.
Mahesh said he was airing this view as a committed and loyal Youth Congress activist who wanted the organisation to gain strength to meet the emerging challenges.
When asked about the critical remarks made by Mahesh, state Youth Congress President Dean Kuriakose said it was not a
personalised attack targeting any particular leader.
Mahesh talked on the need for brining about changes in the system with the larger interests of the organisation in mind, he said.
Later Mahesh told PTI that he had only expressed the "general feeling" in the Youth Congress for the need to change the organisational election system and functioning.
"The national leadership had treated the Youth Congress and the student outfits (KSU in Kerala) as subjects of experiment without testing whether they have the strength to absorb such measures," he said.
