The deceased Salman, son of a cloth merchant here had gone out with his four friends yesterday. Later, in the evening they returned with his body and claimed that the victim was run-over by a truck, Superintendent of Police Om Prakash said.
Body was handed over to the family after post-mortem, he said.
Demanding the arrest of four youths who were Salman's friend, the family members placed his body on Delhi-Meerut state highway, he said.
Police then arrived at the spot and cleared the traffic jam created because of the protest. Locals complained about the lathicharge by the police, which was later denied by the officials.
