The festival was inaugurated by Supreme Court judge Justice S S Nijjar at the Guru Nanak Bhawan here.
"This is for the first time that the Legal Services Authority has taken such an initiative to directly interact with the youth and for pushing them to play constructive role in the society," said District and Session Judge Gurbinder Singh.
Students from different colleges participated in the festival and discussed on various issues including drug addiction, corruption, rights for women, child labour and female foeticide.
Earlier, Chief Justice of Punjab and Haryana High Court Justice A K Sikri told reporters on the sidelines that the they were seriously mulling over the issue of providing holiday in courts on every Saturday and soon a decision on it will be taken.
Replying to a question, he said 8 lakh cases were pending in various courts of the state and efforts were on to settle them at the earliest through the Alternative Dispute Resolution (ADR) scheme.
