Anil lured the girl by offering sweets and took her to a secluded spot.
Incidently, the mother of the victim, who had been searching for the girl, reached the spot.
"As the woman saw Anil attempting to sexually abuse her daughter, she raised the alarm. Hearing her cries, locals gathered on the spot and caught the accused," said a police official.
We have arrested him and a case has been registered under IPC Section 376 (rape) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, he said.
