Youth held for trying to rape 4-yr-old in Delhi

A 25-year-old man was arrested for allegedly attempting to rape a 4-year-old girl living in his neighbourhood in Outer Delhi's Shahbad Dairy area this evening, police said.
Anil lured the girl by offering sweets and took her to a secluded spot.
Incidently, the mother of the victim, who had been searching for the girl, reached the spot.
"As the woman saw Anil attempting to sexually abuse her daughter, she raised the alarm. Hearing her cries, locals gathered on the spot and caught the accused," said a police official.
We have arrested him and a case has been registered under IPC Section 376 (rape) and sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act, he said.

The victim has been sent for medical examination and was counselled by an NGO in the presence of her mother, police added.
