Youth sentenced to 10 yrs in jail for raping woman

A 22-year-old youth has been sentenced to 10 years in jail by a Delhi court for raping a 25-year-old woman, whom he was acquainted with, after entering into her house.
Additional Sessions Judge MC Gupta also imposed a fine of Rs 15,000 on Chaman, a resident of Ashok Vihar, after holding him guilty of the crime.
The victim lodged a complaint with police stating that on the night of January 14, 2011, Chaman, who was known to her, entered her residence in Ashok Vihar and raped her.
She had further charged that the youth had threatened to kill her if she raised an alarm.

She told the court that after registration of the case, she was given death threats and pressurised by Chaman's family to withdraw the charges.
