Youth shot dead over land dispute in Meerut village

Tension prevailed in Jaroda village here today after a youth was shot dead while another received bullet injuries when a group of persons belonging to another community allegedly opened fire at them over a land dispute.
The miscreants opened fire at the 20-year-old youth last evening, following which he succumbed to his injuries.
The accused and the family of the deceased had been engaged in a dispute over an eight-acre land for quite some time, police said.
Another person, who was present on the spot at the time of the incident, received bullet injuries.
A case has been registered against 12 persons of whom six have been arrested, police said.
