The 27-year-old actor has signed up to the movie, to be directed by Jake Szymanski, reported Variety.
It will follow the story of two brothers who place an online advert to find dates for a wedding, with the advert then going viral.
Peter Chernin, David Ready and Jenno Topping will produce for Chernin Entertainment, along with Jonathan Levine. Andrew J Cohen and Brendan O'Brien have written the script.
The search is currently underway for the actor to play Efron's brother.
Efron has also recently been cast alongside Robert De Niro and Audrey Plaza in 'Dirty Grandpa'.
