Singer Zayn Malik has reportedly sparked fear among record executives that he might quit One Direction. Malik, 20, has grown disillusioned with fame ever since rumours emerged that he cheated on girlfriend Perrie Edwards with an Australian waitress, reported Digital Spy online. Malik has been described by the source as being in "a daze" around his bandmates and missing home in recent days, allegedly leading Syco boss Simon Cowell to step in to offer support. "There is growing concern among the bosses that Zayn is on the brink at the moment," a source said. The young singer has apparently been promised a lighter schedule in order to give him time to cope with stress. A spokesperson for the singer has not commented on these latest rumours. Earlier in the week, reports emerged that Malik had made inroads into making up with Edwards by presenting her with a teddy bear. One Direction are currently preparing for a busy year of touring that will see them perform in Los Angeles, Las Vegas, Dublin, London and Milan.
