Amid a weak trend in base metals in global market, zinc prices drifted by 0.32% to Rs 125.70 per kg in futures trade today as speculators trimmed positions.

Also, low demand at domestic spot markets influenced the sentiment.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in current month shed 40 paise, or 0.32%, to Rs 125.70 per kg in a business turnover of 191 lots.

Similarly, the metal for delivery in April edged lower by 35 paise, or 0.28%, to Rs 126.65 per kg in three lots.

Analysts attributed the fall of zinc futures to sluggish demand in the spot markets and weak trend in base metals overseas.
