Zinc futures up 0.79% on global cues

Taking positive cues from overseas markets, zinc prices strengthened by 0.79 per cent to Rs 209.60 per kg in futures market today as speculators engaged in enlarging their positions.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in May went up by Rs 1.65, or 0.79 per cent to Rs 209.60 per kg in business turnover of 1,816 lots.

In a similar fashion, the metal for delivery in June edged up by Rs 1.55, or 0.74 per cent to Rs 209.80 per kg in 16 lots.
