Compaq Computer Corp on Wednesday reduced prices on selected network server and workstation computers as well as on several other products. The company lowered the base price of its ProLiant 1600 server models by 6 per cent, on server memory by up to 36 per cent and for server hard drives up to 22 per cent. The company said it also lowered the price of some of its Professional Workstation models by 11-17 per cent and cut prices on a variety of networking products.
