GERMANY IS opening up its labour market to Indian infotech engineers to gain access to the Indian brain power in high tech industries as dominance in the global marketplace, depends on the acquisition of skilled labour.

This was stated here on Thursday by German Ambassador to India, Dr Heinrich Dieckmann, while addressing the Indian businessmen at a meeting organised by the Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India.

Dr Dieckmann said India must take a positive approach towards economic reforms to globalise itself to reap the advantages of emerging opportunities. Large countries like India, he said, tend to look more inwards. This is a damper to globalisation efforts. This is the experience of many large countries which realised the implications of economic isolation early and therefore took recourse to increased orientation towards globalisation.
