Kerala's 1997-98 plan outlay was yesterday fixed at Rs 2,850 crore showing a 30 per cent increase over the previous year's plan allocation. It was finalised after detailed discussions between Chief Minister E K Nayanar and deputy chairman of the Planning Commission Madhu Dandavate. Nayanar told newspersons here that the major thrust area will continue to be the power sector.
