Mulayams Role

In your editorial And the winner is... (April 21) you had made a passing remark about Mulayam Singh Yadav that he will be especially difficult to handle. Over the past few weeks your fears have been proved wrong. It is Laloo Yadav who appears to be a potential threat to the United Front.

Mulayam Singh has worked tirelessly to bring together secular forces in establishing the UF. His efforts during the most critical situation need to be recognised by all who believe strongly in secularism. Why doesnt the media highlight the positive role played by Mulayam Singh in the longer interests of the country?
