Pepsi Rests Case, Coke Hearing Today

The arguments of Pepsi Foods Ltd concluded before the Delhi High Court yesterday in its case against Coca-Cola India, which alleges that Coke has entered into a conspiracy to cause damage to Pepsi and disrupt its business operations by inducing key employees and associates to break existing contracts.
Justice D K Jain will start hearing the arguments of Coke today. Pepsi's petition seeks permanent injunction against Coke, restraining it from taking away its employees and business associates.
The petition, invoking the 'Law of Torts', has cited incidents of its employees, independent bottlers, business consultants, distributors and institutional clients being offered inducements by Coca-Cola in the form of remuneration much higher than the prevailing industry average.
Pepsi's arguments before the court have chiefly covered the various charges levied on Coke in the petition, alleged instances of various employee leaving Pepsi to join Coke upon inducements offered by Coke and Pepsi's rejoinder to Coke's reply.
