Petrol Dealers Seek Higher Commission

Petrol pump owners in the Union Capital have demanded an increase in their commission in view of a Delhi government order that would bind them to sell only unleaded petrol from September 1.
In a representation to the petroleum ministry and the oil companies, the Delhi Petrol Dealers' Association said the order would result in losses owing to higher evaporation rate of unleaded petrol.
According to association president Bhupinder Singh, leaded petrol has an evaporation rate of about 0.7 per cent against 1.5 per cent in case of unleaded petrol.
Singh said the 38 paise-per-litre commission should be increased to offset the losses from higher evaporation rate.
