Sterlite Shows Its Mettle

Alcan of Canada, which has a 34.5 per cent stake in Indal, has said it will back its Indian subsidiary all the way on any decision taken by Indal on the Sterling bid. This is the second time that Sterlite has made a play for an aluminum company in 1994-95 it successfully took over Madras Aluminum Company.
