Time-Of-The-Day Meters For Kerala Industrial Units

Kerala will soon introduce time-of-the-day power meters for industries to charge different rates during peak and non-peak hours. This is the first for any state electricity board in the country. A state experts committee has recommended the meters for other high-tension consumers too.

Besides the new meters, the Kerala State Electricity Board will resort to power rationing and load shedding to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of power in 1997-98.
